Addressing Teacher Shortages and Diversity through Alternate Routes
New this year, the conference will incorporate a Day on the Hill to engage members in educating national leaders and elected officials on the essential role of alternative teacher certification. The NAAC Policy Committee is working with the board of directors to take the conference to the next level of engagement.
Grow Your Own Preconference
Are you interested in Growing Your Own Teachers? If you already have a GYO program or are interested in starting one, please join the National Grow Your Own Collective to learn more about the ins and outs of successfully running a comprehensive GYO program. There will be representatives from every phase/stage of the GYO continuum to discuss best practices, lessons learned and how to move the work forward. This will be an interactive program that will provide specific hands-on tips and a community of like-minded practitioners interested in supporting each other in this important work. Lunch is included.

Monuments by Moonlight Tour
Immerse yourself in the sights and beauty of the nation’s capital at twilight. This night tour brings Washington DC to life with breathtaking, panoramic views on an open-top, double-decker bus, creating memories of a lifetime! As twilight settles over Washington DC, when the city is at its most beautiful, the Capitol comes alive as the monuments and memorials are the true stars of this tour. During your 2 hour night cruise through the city, the most iconic buildings and tributes to our nation’s capital will take on new meanings. Your guide will live narrate the stories and legends that have formed our nation’s heritage.
