The US Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement has published the notice inviting applications for new Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grants. The SEED Program provides funding to increase the number of highly effective educators by supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices that prepare, develop, or enhance educators. The Department estimates that will it make 5-8 awards in the range of $1 million to $6 million for the first year of the awards. The actual level of funding, if any, depends on final congressional action. The SEED program will host a pre-application webinar on May 10 from 1:00-3:00 pm EDT.
